The Next Adventure

Eat now
in the fast food shop
on the aluminum edged table
where mother has created a delightful meal
father sits on his Chevy
thinking about more than most.

I left my shoe at the door
and walked
through the valley of the shadow of
Death is but the next adventure
open the door to new possibilities.

Don't Mess Up. Don't Fall Down.
Whatever you do
don't look up, the sky is falling.

  1. I'm posting this as a comment because I cannot for the life of me remember the login info, and the one notebook I have it written in is at home. :(

More exquisite corpse poetry (with some edits)!

    My garden grows slowly
    The flowers bloom
    An explosion of melancholy
In the middle of June. Crickets create
our songs; they fill the night air.
The glow of fireflies and fairies
    Compose the whole scene
(No one could turn away from the whole scene).
    Turn away from your demons.
Align the moths with the wall, pin them.
    Lifeless souls surround me
And I watch the balloon float away.
Tail waving goodbye, Marly stumbled off.
No longer was it necessary to get out the belt.
    (A lesson learned hurts sometimes
    In the best of ways.)
